Knit Project Sherpa Lined Hat with Attached Scarf 

This project is a pullover hat and a scarf that are attached. I used the Frola Knitting Loom Craft Kit. 

For the hat: I used the round green loom in the kit, this is the most suitable size for adult heads. I used four colors of medium weight yarn as I found this made it looked better using four. On the side of the loom is a peg, this is where the yarn gets started from. 

To tie the yarn onto the peg I use either a "J" or "K" size crochet hook, the video will show how I knot it before I place on the peg. 

Once all four of the yarns are tied to the main peg you take two strands at a time and wrap them around the pegs then wrap them around the main peg again when you come back around. Then you do the same with the other two strands until all four strands have been wrapped around the pegs.

Now you use one of the hooks that came with the kit, see image on the left, and use it to grab the bottom two strands on each of the pegs and pull them off the peg then push down the top two pegs to the bottom. Once you get around to the main peg for the first  time you need to pull off the four bottom strands then pull the yarn strands to tighten them before beginning to wrap the first two strands around the pegs again.

This will be repeated until you reach the height of the hat you want to wear.

Once you are done with looming the hat you will need to get it off of the loom but still complete the loops so it doesn't unravel. I use a "J' or "K" crochet hook then take a strand of yarn and tie it to the crochet hook then take the two strands that are on the peg and hook them into the crochet hook and loop the first strand over then go in between the pegs and do the same, by crocheting both the pegs and inbetween the pegs it keeps it from puckering. 

After you have all the yarn off the pegs and and crocheted then you can cut the extra strands of yard then crochet the top of the hat closed. 

To attach the sherpa wool I used the pink needle that came with the kit, it was tough as this wasn't meant to be used with the wool just yarn to yarn but it did do the job. ​​

Now you can use the hat alone or the next time I will explain how to use the loom to make the scarg that attaches.​
